Paul Brunner
Paul is the faculty Technical Director and Head of the Theatre Technology program at Indiana University Theatre & Drama. Past appointments include Oklahoma State University, IU South Bend, Southern Ohio Light Opera and most notably with Indiana University Opera and Ballet Theater and the Musical Arts Center, one of America’s largest opera houses. Production highlights include The Three Musketeers, Kismet, The Mikado, Naughty Marietta, Mad Forest, A Raisin In The Sun, and grand opera productions of La Boheme, A Wedding, Don Giovanni, A Midsummer Nights Dream, and the world premiere of the opera Our Town. He received his MFA in Theatre Technology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He’s a member of The United States Institute for Theatre Technology (USITT) and is an active contributor at USITT National Conferences regarding his research into wood and agri-fiber composites and their applications for a responsible use of resources and technology for stage scenery. In 2001 he was awarded the K&M Fabrics Technical Production Award from USITT. He is the editor of Design and Production Review (DPR) published by the USITT-Midwest.
