Andrew Hopson is a sound designer and composer for stage, CD and film. Andrew received his B.A. in history from Grinnell College, his M.M. in composition from Butler University and his PhD. in composition from the University of Minnesota. In theatre he has scored or designed shows at such theatres as the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Utah Shakespearean Festival, Actors Theatre of Louisville, American Repertory Theatre, Milwaukee Rep, Cincinnati Playhouse, Victory Gardens, Harvard University and the Indiana Repertory Theatre, where he was resident sound designer for five years.  In 2004 he had his New York debut with Trying which was rated one of the best Off-Broadway shows of the year.  As a musician, recording engineer and producer, he has released over 30 CD’s ranging from Baroque chamber works to books on tape. Recently, he composed music for the films Utah's Olympic Legacy, Hockey’s Greatest Era 1942-1967 and The Birth of Legends.  His wife Amanda is the head of the Piano program at DePauw University, and his daughter Maggie controls his every waking moment.
