About Sophia Franiak

Sophia Franiak received her B.F.A. in Contemporary Dance and a B.A. in Psychology in 2024. She performed in many works for IU Contemporary Dance: Sounding Bodies (Beatrice Capote), New Moves (Framing Figures, Growing Together), Journeys of Joy (Interface of Inscription), New Moves (Daughter Lost, and Dog with Shoes). She choreographed several works for IU: SLIP (Other Mother, A Pale), NSAL (Other Mother Extended) JCPP (The Gremlins), New Moves (The Plants are Talking). Performance work outside of IU: Sancta dance intensive, David Dorfman Summer intensive. She also gained relevant experience by completing a dance mentorship with The Village Dance Studio.
