Michael is extremely excited and thankful to be in the M.F.A. Acting program here at IU. He is heading into his third and final year with the program this fall. Michael is from a very small town in Northern Illinois called Big Rock. He started acting in school plays as a way to get over being a terribly shy child at a very young age, and he found something he really loved.
Michael found little ways to perform from time to time, but his life was dominated by sports in middle and high school. He went to the University of Missouri in Columbia originally for journalism. However, it did not take long before he realized his real passion was in acting after taking an Acting for Non-Majors class. He soon changed his major and put his full focus on Theatre. He constantly stayed busy doing 16 shows throughout his time at Mizzou.
Once his time at Mizzou was wrapping up, Michael knew he wanted to further his study of acting to a more concentrated program to learn more about himself as an actor and be able grow from his challenges and opportunities. After going through the URTA audition process, Michael found himself here at IU and finds it to be a terrific fit! He loves the department, the people he gets to work with, and the lovely town of Bloomington!
After IU, Michael plans to head to Chicago to further his acting career and be close to his family.
